My photo
I was born and raised in San Diego. Currently I'm a grad student at SDSU (class of 2013) studying Rehabilitation Counseling to help people with disabilities get the accessability and accomodations they need to achieve their potential! I'm an alum of Helix High, Rick's College & BYU. Yes, I'm a Mormon & I served a mission in The Texas Dallas Spanish/ASL Mission. Although it wasn't always true, I'm now successfully living with Schizoaffective Disorder. I've been blessed with a great family and many friends. Enjoy!

A Date!

I asked a guy out on a date to go to the movies because I have a gift certificate. I finally decided to take things into my own hands since I haven't gone on a real date since BYU---and that was a while ago.

He didn't seem to mind that I asked him out. We are going out this Friday night. He hasn't called me and so I don't know what movie we are going to see . . . but I hope it's a good one! He seems really nice. I met him at FHE at my Uncle's singles ward. I am a little old for that ward, but I think that I've met some really good people.

The senior missionaries from the institute are taking me to the activities.

I hope this guy doesn't pass out when he finds out that I am 34 and not younger than 30 to be going to his singles activities. tee hee hee.

Until later, MOPS

The date was a complete joke! the guy called me on Friday night after I had already written him off and asked if I was still willing to go out with him. I thought, Sure why not. I don't want to hang out at this horrid house all night. So, he told me that he would pick me up at 7pm. He was more than an hour late. He blamed it on the fact that he is Mexican. Mormons are known for mormon standard time and Mexicans can be late too, so I guess he suffers from both. He asked me which movie I wanted to see and I told him that I would love to see, "17 Again." I told him the closest places it was playing and he told me that the only place to go to the movies was at Plaza Bonita, a mall that is 40 minutes away. I didn't even know if it was playing down there. I was laughing at this guy. I was trying to have a good conversation with him, but he just wasn't interested in talking about anything but himself. So I listened . . . to a lot of things, a lot of opinions and a lot of his doctrine, which was obviously his perspective. It made me want to laugh out loud! He drove like a maniac. When we finally got down to the mall it was past 8:30 and he demanded that he take me out for dinner. I told him that I hadn't known that he was going to take me out for dinner and so I had already eaten. But he was insistant. He told me that I had to pick the restaurant. I told him again that I wasn't hungry and that if he was he could pick whatever restaurant he wanted. But he insisted that I pick, so I picked Panda Express. I got a soda and he got a dinner. He insisted that I get something so I got those cream cheese crunchy things.

We finally saw the movie after walking the mall and listeneing to him and his perspectives for another hour and 20 minutes.

The movie was hilarious! I really liked it.

The mall was closed when we got out of the movie and so we walked around the mall to get to his car and then we drove me home. Again, he drove like a maniac. I told him that he should slow down a bit but he told me that even if he got a ticket it didn't matter because his cousin knew this lawer who could get any ticket and fine erased. So we flew home. I was happy to get home.

I have learned my lesson. Never ask a guy out, especially when you have only met him twice. You really don't know him and it's wrong for a girl to ask a guy out anyway. Make him work for it! Make sure he is a good guy and not some stranger!
